Jazz Combo Classes

The Jazz Ensemble is a regular ensemble that meets Tuesday Evenings. Learn and improve your jazz improvisation skills in a small jazz combo setting. We play a variety of jazz standards and original tunes and arrangements, some by our own ensemble members.
We offer classes for beginner, intermediate and advanced musicians. The emphasis in rehearsal is on learning to improvise, to help each player learn the role and function of their instrument in the group context, and to expand student’s knowledge of the jazz repertoire. The ensembles each have 4 to 8 players and is open to players of any instrument including vocalists. An informal audition may be required to determine placement.
